Bishop Patricio Wilson began holding Bible Studies in the Williamsburg Manor Clubhouse in Cary, NC in April, 1999. There were three families in attendance including Pastor Wilson and his family. The Homewood Suites in Cary was the site of the commissioning service of Christ Family Church in June, 1999.
Bishop Donald Hilliard Jr. presided over the services. There were many guests and supporters present. The first Sunday morning worship service was held at the Cary Community Center on the First Sunday in June, 1999. Pastor Wilson continued to hold midweek Bible Studies at the Williamsburg Manor Clubhouse and Sunday services at the community center. The Lord began to bring increase and quickly there was not enough room in the clubhouse for Bible studies. Shortly thereafter, a local Pastor offered his sanctuary for Bible studies. For the next four years Abundant Life Church was the location for Thursday night Bible Studies and the Cary Community Center remained the location for Sunday morning worship.
The hand of God was upon the ministry and it was shown through his favor. The Lord continued to add to the ministry while supplying every need. In 2004, Pastor Wilson, along with the support of the leadership and congregation, purchased property in the heart of Cary, NC. Six acres of land were purchased and a 10,000 sq.ft. existing building. The building was renovated and became the Christ Family Church sanctuary and administrative offices. In 2006, five additional acres of land were purchased as well as an adjacent brick 3,000 square foot home which is used as a transitional housing facility for single parent mothers. God's hand has truly been on this life-changing ministy and it continues to be. Worshippers are being taught the word of God and classrooms are filled with children excited about growing in God.
As vision continues to unfold, Christ Family Church continues to fulfill it's mission to evangelize, educate, emancipate, and empower...all to the glory of God!
